I didnt realise while painting this, that my scanners space is smaller than the format of the paper...

Ariel the little mermaid. C: As a little kid I made loads of copyarts from the Disney book version and never was satisfied. Now when I am "old" I can draw what I have in my head. And yes, I am quite satisfied how this came out. One never knows how does it feel, unless you draw Ariel. :P

It is fanart, thus its my version of her, ok? chill out. I know I made her older.

Edit: Submitting better scanned version. Since I cant use this in my portfolio and it would be a waste to have it it in the drawer, if anybody would like to buy it, it is for sale. Feel free to note me.


EDIT: the 100th user which favorites this, gets a free A5 graphite sketch. :P

well, fanart, doesn't have to copy original style :/ you can interpret characters with your own style, or i guess...

The first thing I noticed was the fact that you gave Ariel her own face, not one of the Disney Princess' face. I applaud that.

I think it's fitting that your version of her is older, since you have also gotten older. It's bittersweet in a way, if I'm making any sense that is. :D Bottom line; I love it. She seems happeh and relaxed.

Gorgeous! I love her tail, and that face is wonderful! Beautiful and sweet.
I was the same, as a kid I'd copy all my favorite pictures because i couldn't draw what I wanted to see and couldn't wait for the day I'd be able to draw how I saw her^^
