Blythechild as The Queen of Hearts. (black/white ink drawing for the half page)
This was truly truly the hardest one I worked on for this series...there are so many adaptations and versions of this famous lady...it was really a fight to ignore the influence and stay original.
I decided to be revolutionary and make her "outfit" completely new.
This character is labeled as "blind fury" and mercyless, but I took her more as The goddess Afrodita. Lady which is powerfull and dangerous, thanks to her looks.
I pictured her power not with juwels (she has a little crown and earring in heartshapeform), but with her attire. She is naked. Only clothing she wears is the strange cloak, fastened on neck (looks like it is necklace, but it isn´t ).
Well why that...When one is naked he shows the innerest, he is defenceless. When one is a queen, she is a open book for everyone to look into - she must be cautious, and able to protect her self, and yeat bevare the flair of beeing neutral.
Naked than means~ "I am open, direct, have nothing to hide, but it is not everything what it seems this shell. If you try to attack me, I will be mercyless, since I have to protect myself." Such strong sharp power (nails on fingers) in delicate shape (hands stroking the flamingos.)
For now the series is done. Thank you for your attention Ladys an Gentlemens.
Yay... I am glad you wanted to stay original... I always saw her as just that merciless, cruel woman, most of the times not even pretty, never smiling... I like the way you portrayed her... powerful, but yet not without a human side to her personality...
